Oksana Denysenko, MEd, MPsy

Registered Psychotherapist (RP)

Services offered in English & Ukrainian

I completed my Master's Degree in Education at Kyrovohrad State Pedagogical University (Ukraine) and my Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am also in the process of obtaining ongoing Certificates in Gestalt Therapy and Psychoanalysis. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

I am a trained therapist with experience using evidence-based therapies such as Humanistic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Trauma Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Bodynamic (Psycho-motor developmental therapy), and Polyvagal Therapy.

What makes me stand out as a therapist is my own lived experience of trauma, loss, and grief, which made me attuned and compassionate toward other people's suffering. I am a lifetime learner, I have a burning desire to learn more about the human psyche, I am very curious about my own inner world and I would like to help my clients wake up with this curiosity and attention to their souls.

The focus of my work is early developmental trauma or Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). I strongly believe in the human ability to grow and the freedom to make choices, regardless of the circumstances. My task as a therapist is to create a safe environment for my clients and help them become aware of their emotions, body reactions, and behavioural patterns. The meaningful connection between me and my clients helps them to realize the way they built their relationships. Changes are not easy and they happen when we meet ourselves where we are, and learn to look at ourselves with love and compassion.
