How to Feel Without Falling Apart

Group Program

A virtual group therapy program for Persian-speaking adults impacted by the conflict in Iran

Join Mehrnoosh, an Iranian-Canadian therapist, for a group program to support you in sitting with big emotions about the conflict in Iran with individuals in  a similar position.

Is what’s happening in Iran affecting you in all aspects of your life, making it hard to find balance? Are you unsure whether you should feel your emotions or push them away? Have you been experiencing intense emotions without knowing what to do with them?

This six-week group program is for you. It is designed to provide practical tools to help you cope and create more space to breathe through your daily activities, work, school, and home life. This is a safe and private space where we can hold each other’s hands through this difficult moment. You do not have to go through it alone.

How to Feel Without Falling Apart is a program created with you in mind - and created by someone who truly gets it. Mehrnoosh is an Iranian therapist living in Toronto personally impacted by the conflict and ongoing impacts in Iran.

Many of us were never taught how to safely experience difficult emotions without suppressing, overthinking, shutting down, or becoming overwhelmed by them. This program offers a compassionate and practical space to better understand our emotional experiences and learn how to respond to them more safely and intentionally. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and emotional regulation tools, participants will learn about the nervous system and explore identifying emotions in the body, the window of tolerance, self-criticism, values-based actions, and the difference between what is within and outside of our control. Rather than trying to “fix” or "get rid of" emotions, the goal of this program is to build capacity to stay present with emotions while remaining grounded, connected to ourselves and each other, and aligned with what matters to us.

What You'll Learn:

  • Practical tools for emotional regulation

  • How to identify emotions

  • Why emotions feel like “too much”

  • Introduction to the nervous system

  • How to create more space and lightness in your life despite the uncertainty

  • How to process how you are impacted
