How to Feel Without Falling Apart Group Workshop

An in-person workshop in Thornhill, Ontario

June 20th, 2026, 10am - 12pm

How to Feel Without Falling Apart Group Workshop

An in-person workshop for Persian-speaking adults impacted by the conflict in Iran

Join Mehrnoosh, an Iranian-Canadian student therapist, for a group workshop to support you in sitting with big emotions about the conflict in Iran within a group of individuals in  a similar position.

Is what’s happening in Iran affecting you in all aspects of your life, making it hard to find balance? Are you unsure whether you should feel your emotions or push them away? Have you been experiencing intense emotions without knowing what to do with them?

This one-time information session is for you. It is designed to provide practical tools to help you cope and create more space to breathe through your daily activities, work, school, and home life. This is a safe and private space where we can hold each other’s hands through this difficult moment. You do not have to go through it alone.

How to Feel Without Falling Apart is a workshop created with you in mind - and created by someone who truly gets it. Mehrnoosh is an Iranian student therapist living in Toronto personally impacted by the conflict in Iran.

Many of us were never taught how to safely experience difficult emotions without suppressing, overthinking, shutting down, or becoming overwhelmed by them. This workshop offers a compassionate and practical space to better understand our emotional experiences and learn how to respond to them more safely and intentionally. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and emotional regulation tools, participants will learn about the nervous system and explore identifying emotions in the body, the window of tolerance, self-criticism, values-based actions, and the difference between what is within and outside of our control. Rather than trying to “fix” or "get rid of" emotions, the goal of this workshop is to build capacity to stay present with emotions while remaining grounded, connected to ourselves, and aligned with what matters to us.

What You'll Learn:

  • Practical tools for emotional regulation

  • How to identify emotions

  • Why emotions feel like “too much”

  • Introduction to the nervous system

  • How to create more space and lightness in your life despite the uncertainty
