Advanced Clinician

Volha Shelepava, BEd, BPsy

Registered Psychotherapist (RP)

Services offered in English & Russian

My journey in Psychotherapy started in 1997 when I chose psychotherapy as my university major. From 1997 to 2002, I studied psychotherapy at Belarusian State University. From 2000 to 2002, I also completed Belarusian-Italian program in Clinical Psychotherapy. From 2000 to 2004, I studied in the Moscow Gestalt Institute.

In 2004, I finally started working in my field. I worked as a psychotherapist in several companies and had my own private practice. I moved to Canada in 2008 and discovered the Toronto Gestalt Institute in 2011, subsequently enrolling into their 5-year training program. I became a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in 2016 and since 2019 I also have been supervising qualifying psychotherapists (RPQ).

I have been working with clients for over 14 years, and work with individuals, couples, throuples, and people in open relationships. I work with clients supporting the following aspects:

- LGBTQ+

- Relationship Issues

- Self-Esteem

- Stress Management and Life-Work Balance

- Non-Clinical Depression and Anxiety

- Loss and Grief

- Eating Disorders

- Immigration and Life Transitions

Every life turn is precious and every difficulty deserves attention. In our fast-paced society of "Successful Success", we often dismiss small inconveniences and do not pay attention to discomfort until it grows out of proportion. There is no need to wait that long!

As a psychotherapist using Gestalt Therapy, I focus on helping my clients become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in the present moment. I encourage self-acceptance, the ability to make choices, and explore how unresolved issues could limit personal growth and how my clients relate to themselves and others in their daily lives. Therapy can be a place to discover how to move from "okay to “great". If you think we might be a good fit, reach out to book a free 15-minute phone consultation to make sure.

Therapists with Therapy Uninterrupted are registered with the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program and with the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) for certain groups of people in Canada. Please check with the relevant agencies to see if you qualify for mental health coverage through these programs, or follow the links provided in this paragraph accordingly.
